Happy New Year!

And here it is. The beginning of a brand new year again. 2008!!!

And there i was in town with him welcoming the brand new year. Orchard and somerset was super crowded and it seemed like thaipusam to me for the amount of indian nationals was that many. I must say that it was a different experience for me this year for i have always been spending the new year with my family at home. Being in a crowded place on new year’s eve just made me feel alittle weird but i’m glad i enjoyed myself.

I’m looking forward to a brilliant year ahead with quite a number of goals to achieve. Or better said as new year resolutions. There are several of us who do not keep up with new year resolutions and thus prefer not making any. But as for myself, i’ve seen a few of them come true through my hardwork in the past years and thus i still continue making them for every other year. Haha.

This year’s new year resolutions:

1. To be losing some weight. (Though i’m not fat, you know being a girl, even 1 kg of fat might seem like everything in the world.)

2. To work on my driving license and get it going to a certain level.

3. To start on a proper savings plan, save more and spend less.

So you see, its not that bad as you think and these resolutions can be made possible with hardwork and self-determination. I believe in myself strongly and i know i will get them done. =)

And as for everyone else, i hope you guys had a great new year’s countdown and wish all of you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR! May this year be filled with lotsa smiles and blessings for you guys.

And a note for my dearest Nithi:

I’m waiting eagerly for your arrival and you definitely know what we are gonna do and how much fun we are gonna have when your here. 2 more weeks and tadaa! =D

After a long long time

And here i am after a long long time. Haha.

Been to busy with the working world and as they say when you love your job or be it whatever that your doing, you wouldn’t even realise that time flies by. Having been months that i blogged, I’m not too sure on where I left of or where i should even start.

The best is to blog about whatever thats happening at present for this might be my last entry for this year. Haha. When 2008 comes, we’ll see if i still can find the time to do so.

As for work, its been really good and I’ve made so much of progress and earned the compliments from my colleagues at the other offices. It has given me so much of confidence and boost to be doing better for the upcoming year.

As for my life, its been smooth sailing and i cannot complain. The usual shopping sprees, movie and dinner dates with the one still continues and that makes my time well spent and gives me more happiness.

As for my family, everythings been good. Deepavali was just over and 2 of the important family events that i was looking forward to went really fine in the month of november. Now the next thing i’m looking forward to is the arrival of my beautiful babe NITHYA. The aussie chic, as she’s better known as. LOL. (Now, don’t kill me for this. Haha) 2008 is coming with a bang and is going to be a good one I’m sure. Have got many things already planned up. Weeee.

Yesterday was the christmas party with my office colleagues at clarke quay at this cuban restaurant. The food was awesome and all that cocktail,mocktail and booze did my colleagues some good. If your wondering if i had some booze, NAH. I thought that a mocktail was good enough to keep me happy and i sticked to my choice even though red wine was calling for me. Haha. And the exchanging of christmas gifts with my colleagues was fun fun fun. I got this bodyshop white musk set and i soooo love it. =D The only sad part was my camera died on me. Died as in really spoilt. I have no idea whats wrong with my cam and its seems to me as though its a hint for me to be getting a new one. Haha. We’ll see.

I guess that very much about it. Shall be catching up with you guys sometime soon.

Like finally.

Its been too long eh.

Well, I’m doing good and i hope you all are doing as fine too.

Its been more than a month since my working life started and work’s been great. I’ve got no complains at all for I’m enjoying every moment of it.

Preparations for deepavali is coming along well too. I’m looking forward to the festive season. More kueh kuehs, visiting, fun and hong baos. Yayyness. Haha.

Shopping and movie is in the list for this week and I’m so awaiting it. =D

Working life.

So you may wonder hows working life treating me?

Very well indeed. I seem to like my office, the work I do, the people around me and even my manager.  Makes me think that recruiting is very much for me but honestly my dream job would be either to teach or to be working in a bank. I really hope to gain some working experience here before i job hop to another that can offer me something better. Its not as hard anymore to be waking up early and getting to work. I’m so used to having 4 to 5 hours of sleep each day and getting to work on time. And on two occassions with just 2 hours of sleep after meeting the boy for dinner and yakking all the way till time just flew by.

Well, I’ve been juggling well with work and my tution assignments. Its get tiring and very busy for sure but sometimes you’ve gotta strive to gain the 5Cs in life right? Haha. I ought to thank the few people in my life who have been making me cope with working life this well. All that frequent phonecalls he makes to my direct line during office hours, all that sweet msgs i get when i start off the day, all of mum’s calls to check up on me, all the times that my 2 favourite friends hang on the phone with me to accompany me home and to tutions, all the times that my friends and i make fun of my vellaikara manager when im stressed. Haha…Brings me so much of smiles.

On another note, today is Vinayagar Sathurthi. Wishing all my indian friends a Happy Vinayagar Sathurthi and may god bless you guys always. Can’t wait to eat the mothagam that mum’s making like right now. I’m smelling it from the living room itself. Haha.

Convocation Ceremony

And yes, today was my convocation ceremony.  The day that my 22 years of existence made sense. I was eagerly awaiting this day since a long time ago. I’m glad that everything went well and that I had lots of fun. Its really sad that I am gonna miss uni life and all the good friends I’ve made there. Seriously, this is a dream come true and I’m glad I’ve done my parents proud and also proven it to the ppl whom I detest.  Well, this is just not the end yet. I’m planning to do my Masters programme in a few years time after I get good experience from the corporate world. There is still time though. Haha.

The working life of mine has just begun and I should say that it has been okay this far. The workload has YET to come in and I’m praying real hard for everything to go smoothly.

This is really a short entry. Well, the pics of my graduation can be found on my friendster. I’m really too busy to post it up here. So yeah…thats about it.

Its a matter of hours.

Yeah, in about 11 hours time, I would be in my office starting work and I’m all nervous man.  Today, I had signed the contract with BBT  for I found the terms and conditions reasonable. My manager seems to be quite nice…oh and not forgetting quite cute too. He looks alittle like my cousin Guru. Hehe. (Nithi, your like imagining already right. Lol.) So yup, my work actually starts at 8.30am every day but he has asked me to come in at 10am tomorrow. How cool! I hope this remains for the whole of this week. Okay, i know its abit of fat hope there. Haha. But I get an off for friday for its my BIG DAY! MY CONVOCATION CEREMONY! HURRAYYY!

2 more days to go.

Time’s running up and I’ve gotta complete whatever tasks thats left to be done by Monday. That includes shopping for more formal wear and a nice bag, lunch/ dinner dates with a few friends and stuff. All this rush cos I’m starting work officially on Tuesday, 28th August.

I was thinking that I would be starting on Mon, 3rd Sept. But since my reference check got cleared and my availability is immediate, I’ve gotta be starting this soon. Seems like everythings moving so fast but the fact is that I’ve had a good, long holiday like never before in my life. Now its time to get all set for work and work my way up the corporate ladder.

I would be going down to my workplace on Monday morning to sign the contract and necessary documentations. I’m defnitely excited about the whole thing. But for now, Ive gotta get used to sleeping early. Having been used to sleeping at 2 or 3 am almost everyday and having sucha carefree lifestyle, its time I start getting my ass to bed on time. I wouldn’t wanna see myself yawning or dozing off at work. I really hope not. Haha.

Its defnitely gotta be a great news!

I’ve just been offered a job for the position of a global resourcing consultant from BBT after going through 2 rounds of interviews and a psychometric selection test. Finally, I get to walk into the working world and have a good taste of it. They are offering a good salary and I would be starting work officially on Mon, 3rd Sept 2007. Thats right after my graduation ceremony and its true that everything seems so much brighter now. =D

I’m really looking forward to this and its now time to shop for more formal clothes. Hee.

I’m so so happy and a big thanks to all my darlings who have been there to encourage me endlessly.

Contradictions.

You really wouldn’t believe this. But I had met up with the person whom I didn’t plan to meet for dinner earlier at Hougang mall. Was a sudden thingy but I guess everything went exceptionally well. It was good to know that I carried myself very confidently without any bit of regret and dissapointed him in several aspects with the way I behaved. Friends is the word and nothing more. So if your tryin to make me fall for you again, you can only dream on. =)

Cousin’s 21st.

Attended Kuhan’s 21st birthday party at the National musuem today. It was a great party and I had much fun with Manju, Hanesh, my bro and the rest of them. I had a friend asking me “Your cousin a statue ah? How come the party’s at National musuem.” Haha. Nicky, if you happen to stumble upon this, yes I’m talking about YOU. Lol. It was held at a hall in the musuem. Really very spacious and beautifully decorated. They even showed a video of him from his younger days to now. I can’t wait for Gagendran’s 21st birthday party. 2 more years to go and it sucks. Haha. I’ve got so many many plans already and I’m waiting to make it all come true.

I had also bumped into my friend Siraaj around Cathay Cineplex after the party when I was there to satisfy my craving for Caramel frappucino at Starbucks. As usual, we both were smiling from ear to ear on coming across each other.

On another note, I’ve been envious of one of my cousins. Yes, I’ve got this cousin who is happily married for 6 years and I’m just happy to be using her and her hubby as my role-models. You don’t get me, do you? Well i meant this in a sense that I want to be like them…and so much like them after I get married. Theirs was a love marriage and they courted each other for a few years before tying the knot. And now, they have two beautiful kids whom they are bringing up so well. They are so loving towards their kids, always dress them up at their best and teach them to be well-mannered. I want my ideal marriage life in future to be so much like this. Well, we shall see….won’t we? Haha.
